Meet dr. howard rankin
Dr. Howard Rankin spent the first ten years of his career as a psychologist at the Institute of Psychiatry’s Addiction Research Unit where he was part of a small team researching the nature and treatment of dependence. Howard has written over 30 academic papers on addiction and was for several years the editor of the journal Addictive Behaviors. He has run inpatient and outpatient programs for alcoholics, drug addicts, and gamblers, has served on numerous committees and been involved in WHO and NIT projects. His work in psychology and his writing have been featured in many newspapers and magazines and he has appeared on national networks including CNN, ABC, CBS, BBC, and on “The View” and “20/20”.
After facing a very challenging situation, Dr. Rankin turned his attention to coaching and writing. His latest books include I Think Therefore I Am Wrong: A Guide to Bias, Political Correctness, Fake News and the Future of Mankind which explores the default setting of the mind and how that can lead us astray, Power Talk: The Art of Effective Communication and Intuitive Rationality: The new behavioral direction of AI with Grant Renier. Falling to Grace: The Art and Science of Redemption was released on April 15, 2022 and was featured in Psychology Today magazine (May 2022 issue).
Howard is also a Psychology Today blogger, and Science Director at IntualityAI, a predictive analytics company. Currently one of his books, The Journey of the All-American Red Heads is being made into a documentary, with the possibility of it being also made into a movie. He has just launched his first novel Sherlock Holmes versus Artificial Intelligence: The Race to Solve a Murder Mystery. Howard has a radio show The Miracle Within You that airs on UK Health Radio.
